Trousers for a hot day need ventilation, not just thin fabric. Vintage Industries Eldridge has openings in the side seam that let air reach the leg and a drawcord at the bottom hem to tune the shape. The light ripstop in a cotton and nylon blend balances low weight with durability.
Ripstop that stops the tear
A reinforced yarn is woven into the fabric in a regular grid. When the material catches on something, the tear stops at the nearest grid line and goes no further. That is exactly why ripstop is used for field gear.
Regular fit
Regular fit is the safe choice — not clingy, but not baggy either. It suits most builds and leaves enough room for a thinner layer underneath.
