Compact burner with good stability

The stove screws directly onto the gas cartridge – the entire assembly takes up minimal space in your rucksack (once the arms are folded, it fits into a small pouch). Three leg arms unfold into a stable tripod that will support pots up to approximately 22 cm in diameter. Burner weight is only around 120 g.

Piezo ignition and fine flame control

Integrated piezoelectric ignition – simply turn the control valve and press the button. Flame control is fine – from a gentle simmer to full power at approximately 2,800 W, suitable for boiling and simmering food.

Advantages and disadvantages of Primus Flinta

✓ Advantages: very low weight, rapid heating (0.5 L water in approximately 3:30), piezo ignition, flexibility to use with any pot or pan, fine control, affordable price, Primus reliability.

✗ Disadvantages: no heat exchanger (higher gas consumption than Lite Plus), burner is sensitive to wind (windproof cover recommended), higher position above cartridge raises centre of gravity – with large pots increased caution needed, piezo can fail over time (lighter as backup).

Comparison: Flinta vs Lite Plus, Tupike, remote burners

Primus Lite Plus has an integrated pot and heat exchanger – economical, but limited to one type of cooking. Primus Tupike is a dual burner for camping with fixed legs – not designed for a rucksack. Remote burners (with cartridge separate on a hose) are more stable for large pots and work in reverse (liquid gas in cold), but are heavier and more expensive. Flinta is the most practical classic burner for a rucksack.
