Avvio di fuoco in grado di creare una scintilla più grande a 3500°C. Utilizzando un raschietto, si può raschiare la polvere di magnesio dal lato opposto della tavola da disegno, che poi si accende con una scintilla dalla tavola da disegno. É possibile fare scintille anche quando é bagnata o umida, basta pulire la trafila.
