Ultralight thanks to a simplified construction

When designing the Lightweight Poncho we cut the construction down to the essentials. We replaced the metal eyelets with loops of strong webbing. That lowered its weight and packed volume without changing its size when unfolded.

Protection from rain and from mechanical wear in the field

We sewed it from Ripstop polyester so that it protects not only from rain but also withstands pulls, abrasion and daily use in a harsh environment. The ripstop weave reinforces the fabric and limits how far a tear can spread.

Light, easy to compress, ready to go

The poncho is light and takes up little space when packed. You can throw it into a backpack, a bicycle pannier or even the glovebox — and forget about it until you really need it. Packed, it fits into a small pouch that stows easily in any side pocket of a backpack.

It protects you and your gear

You do not have to choose between staying dry and protecting your equipment. The loose cut lets you pull the poncho over your clothing and over a medium-sized backpack. The drawcord in the hood also lets you fit the head coverage precisely and protect your head from wind and rain. So you keep both yourself and what you carry out of the rain.

Functionality above the standard

Snap fasteners at the sides let you shape sleeves and improve how the poncho sits while marching. You can also join two ponchos to build a larger canopy or an improvised shelter in the field.
