The most typical combat knife from Cold Steel in SK-5 blade configuration is an economical yet effective variant of such knives. The knife blade is made from high-carbon SK-5 steel, which is traditionally used in the manufacture of a wide range of hand tools. The Tanto blade was adopted from Japanese knives. American Tanto knives have a reinforced secondary edge compared to their Japanese counterparts to prevent damage when cutting tougher materials. The Recon Tanto is used by military and police forces worldwide. The blade is treated with a Black Tuff-Ex™ surface finish for corrosion resistance. The perfectly shaped knife handle made from Kraton material (Long Kray-Ex™) offers a non-slip surface. It fits the hand excellently and allows very fine work with the knife in wet environments. The knife comes with a Secure-Ex sheath for the protection of both you and the blade.
