Una variante più economica del coltello Tanto. Il coltello è realizzato in acciaio inossidabile giapponese AUS8A. Si tratta di un acciaio da taglio con eccellenti proprietà e la lama è altamente resistente alla flessione o alla rottura. Per migliorare le prestazioni, lo spessore del dorso della lama è rinforzato e il taglio attraversa l'intero manico (design a codolo pieno). Il manico ha un profilo sottile ed è progettato per adattarsi al meglio alla mano ed evitare che si attorcigli. L'impugnatura è realizzata in Long Kray-Ex™, un polimero sintetico morbido e flessibile. Il Kobun viene fornito in una confezione con fodero.
