Durante questo periodo, è possibile che le fodere si sbiadiscano con l'uso o che le frequenti regolazioni della taglia usurino il sistema interno. Quando si sostituisce la fodera, è bene controllare anche le condizioni del polistirolo interno e della calotta in generale (assenza di ammaccature, forature o usura significativa) per garantire l'integrità delle caratteristiche di sicurezza del casco.
