Progettato per sopportare i maltrattamenti che solo la sua omonima grande parete può offrire, il Capitan è il casco bombardiere e ultraresistente di Black Diamond, caratterizzato da una maggiore copertura sia sui lati che sulla schiena, pur mantenendo una vestibilità elegante e cullante per un comfort che dura tutto il giorno. Caratterizzato da una costruzione della calotta in 2 pezzi in ABS che consente una vestibilità ottimizzata e due varianti di colore, il Capitan vanta anche una fusione di schiuma EPP e un disco in schiuma EPS, che soddisfa i requisiti proposti dall'UIAA per una maggiore protezione laterale e posteriore. Le prese d'aria del Capitan garantiscono un'ampia traspirazione quando le temperature si fanno più elevate e un sistema di sospensione a basso profilo regola la vestibilità. Le clip integrate per le lampade frontali con un elastico sul retro assicurano la luce in modo da poter affrontare la notte.
